My Story of Getting Rid of Migraine Headaches by Adding Emptiness Part 2

Hello and welcome to part 2 of my story about migraines or, how I got rid of them and kept them from returning.

This will be hard before it gets easy.  It takes will power and a kind of requirement that you wrap your brain around the work of getting rid of them in a new way. Because to get rid of them you have to change.  Usually you have to change your lifestyle.  It involves giving up a lot of bad stuff!

It’s crazy because what I’m writing about here isn’t any new method.  I’m not going to say eat Gogi berries or take this supplement and the migraines will leave, even though I do love Gogi berries.

When I was living with migraine I got so tired of quick-trip-to-health-types-of-solutions.  Adding healthy food, vitamins or supplements is not going to change things.  Fruits and vegetables are so needed, it’s true, but it’s much more about what you take out of your life than what you add.

In part one I talked about emptiness.  Once I connected emptiness and lack of pain, I couldn’t get more information fast enough.  Why was this happening?  Why was the pain lighter and less when I was empty?

I learned volumes on the subject.  Pain anywhere means that something is blocked.  That’s pretty basic.  There’s a backup in the plumbing and it’s making a mess.

It’s no different than cleaning up a mess you made around the house.  We make a mess of ourselves inside, and it simply has to be cleaned up, too.

My family and some close friends know about my journey of leaving migraines behind and the thankfulness, gratitude, and humbleness that came with recovering is the thing that got me to purchase a domain name, start this blog and actually start talking in a public format.

My desire to help other people end migraine suffering was bigger that my fear of public (online) speaking so hear I am!

My list is basically 3 categories.  There’s a lot to these three areas but I will do my best to keep it simple and organized in this post.  This method won’t be for everyone, but I believe there’s something here for everyone who suffers from regular recurring pain.  So here is it…

Clean up inside.  What does this mean?  Do a parasite cleanse.  Stop eating for a couple of days to give your digestive system a rest.  Drink tons of water.  In the first month of cleaning up,consider doing an enema every other day.

If you are just too squeamish about doing this type of cleaning and don’t mind the slow and steady route, enemas are not mandatory.  For faster results I urge you to seriously consider it, though.  More about this in a future post.

For now just please make sure that once you make the commitment to clean up, that you stop putting the kind of food in that makes the mess in the first place.

I won’t go into detail in this post either about parasite cleanses.  If it sounds completely foreign to you, look into it, try to wrap your brain around it with some research.  It’s a gross subject, but if you’re able to accept it for what it is you’ll be thankful for the knowledge.

Now, I’ll get specific about the exact location of the mess that’s causing the migraine.  Two great herbal health pioneers, Dr. John Christopher and Dr. N.W. Walker both contributed healing information worth way more than its weight in gold!  It is so worth your time to learn more about their work.  I highly recommend you get a couple of their books to get a full understanding of how colon health is so literally related to being pain free.

It turns out that all parts of the colon are related and match up, so to speak, with certain body parts.  For migraines, you have to clean up the bottom of the ascending colon, near the secum valve.  There’s a hard, encrusted mess there that needs to go.

Cleaning up this part of your anatomy is a huge part of getting the migraines to leave. Water gets everything flowing again, which brings me to the second thing in the list…

Your Water Drinking Routine. You want to drink water all day, at least a gallon.  But there’s also a specific time each day that you need to drink.  Once we fall asleep, the valves in the digestive tract open up to allow for better air flow and circulation.  The soles of our feet have receptors that close the valves in the morning once we stand up.  (Amazing, isn’t it!)  So this is the perfect opportunity to get some water right down into the colon where it needs to be.

Drink a glass of water before you stand up.  Make sure to place it on your bed side table before falling asleep for the night.  Add a couple of spoonfuls of raw apple cider vinegar or lemon for extra cleaning and to restore your stomach acid.  Work to make this a habit and you will reap the rewards.

No one wants to talk about this but here it is…you need to be having 3-5 well-formed bowel movements a day.  The water routine will help this along, in combination with your willingness to do the next step….

Only eat raw fruit and vegetables, nuts and seeds.  Have cooked vegetables occasionally and every once in a great while, maybe some meat, but not when you’re first getting started with this.  No dairy, refined flours, refined salts, alcohol and sugar.  No mucus causing food since what you’re trying to do is clear the tubes, so you won’t be blocked, so you won’t have pain.

Plants are designed to clear the tubes and then you won’t be in a constipated state.

Every part of our colon is related to a specific body part.  One hundred years ago, approaching sickness from this angle/type of thinking was more common.  Obviously today it isn’t.

My Story of Getting Rid of Migraine Headaches by Adding Emptiness, Part 1

I am writing this for others out there who suffer with horrible head pain. I am so incredibly thankful and humbled that my pain is gone that I can barely explain it.

I’m compelled, motivated, called, to help others find their way out.

This is my migraine story and I hope and pray there is something here that helps you.

I remember the moment that I first felt the stabbing pain of what I was to learn much later, is called a migraine headache.

I was eleven years old. It was an extremely hot August day, and my task was to bring everyone in my family ice water. We were doing yard work. I went in our kitchen and decided to get fancy with pretty glasses and a tray. When everything was ready I walked back outside and that’s when it hit me.

I dropped everything and to this day have such a sharp mental picture of our yellow glasses on the green grass, the ice cubes and stifling heat.

The rest of the day is not as clear of a memory to me. I think I went inside and fell asleep. But for whatever reason I always will remember those blades of grass and the ice cubes so vividly.

That was the beginning of my long relationship. A lot of painful memories of …..well, pain, and always missing out on things. In high school and college it was missing out on what my friends were doing.

Since the beginning of our marriage my husband has been with me through all of it. He made sure there was no noise or extra light. If you suffer from migraines, you know what I’m referring to with the noise and light.

When the pain would climb up to horrible and I knew for sure that this was it – I wasn’t going to survive or come out on the other side of this – my husband was always there to tell me I would survive, just like I did each and every time.  Sounds dramatic and I laugh to myself when I remember saying that.  But at the same time, I also remember what caused me to say it.

Fast forward through seventeen years of migraines! By this time we have 4 beautiful children. That would be a separate book in itself what the migraines did through all four of the pregnancies, so maybe one day I’ll get to that! What I’ll focus on here is the night I decided to stop depending on over the counter pain medication for these events.

By the way, throughout all of this, I never used prescription drugs. I seriously considered it but, looking back, I think I was afraid of the side effects. I guess my thinking back then was, I was already such a mess, how could I add more to it.

Back to my story. It was a Sunday afternoon. My husband was out of town and there it was –

the sickening beginning of migraine that I knew so well.

I don’t know what was different about this time compared to all of the others but I remember I had had enough of it. I felt tired, not necessarily physically tired, just an incredible aggravation and annoyance that here I was, about to go through this, yet again.

I was mad! Over the years I had read different things here and there about the side effects of over the counter pain meds, and was, of course, aware that this at least existed. For whatever reason, this particular night I was mad about that, too.

My thinking was why should I continue to take this stuff. It never helps anyway except maybe it took the edge off. It would take away the sharpness of the pain, maybe the pain wouldn’t reach those incredible heights if I took it early enough in advance.

But that night it became incredibly clear to me that it wasn’t healing me; it was numbing me so I wouldn’t feel.

That night I decided I would feel it. I even wanted to. I wanted the migraine to bring everything it had and I was going to fight back.

Why??? Where were these thoughts coming from? I had been afraid of the pain for so long. I remember I literally decided that, no matter what happened, I wasn’t going to be afraid anymore. I don’t know how else to describe this part except to say that I somehow felt ready to do a battle, which sounds so funny I know. I threw away all the pain medication I had, got a glass of water, and gave the kids permission to watch a movie. I walked to my room to lay down, be still and wait for it to leave. I threw up once and then made three additional trips to the bathroom. This was nothing new for me, just the usual migraine happenings. I was completely empty.


My mind was so clear! I was in pain but I always thought that the pain was what made me feel so foggy. This was new and different. I noticed that once I was empty (I’m talking about my digestive tract), the pain was lighter. It was there but not intense in a panicking life-threatening way.

What’s the connection between being empty and pain?

After years of studying, I have the answer to this question with a clear understanding. I learned that the intensity of these migraines was under my control. If I was stuffed with food close to the time when a migraine was expected, look out! Unbearable, off the charts pain. When I fast, flood myself with water, I have either no pain at all, or some dizziness and a pain level of maybe between 2-4, on a scale of 0-10.

Fasting Can Save Your Life and Help Clear up Gallstones and Tumors

Fasting just makes sense.  Your body is filled with millions of tubes, and those tubes get clogged with all of the bad stuff you eat.  When given the chance, through fasting, the body can

  • finally take a much needed break from constantly digesting food,
  • start to clear the tubes,
  • clean up the organs that filter (kidneys, liver, colon to name a few), and start doing some housework.

You won’t starve, and everything is going to be ok.  Simple fasting.  It doesn’t cost anything!  It’s free and can clear disease out of you.  But it does involve you committing to the work of it.  Read some books on the subject.  I have one that I’ll recommend at the end of this article. I think it’s important to do the research and have a full understanding of the gift you actually have, which is your health.  When facing a disease, you certainly have access to, and encouragement to take a plethora of chemical medications.  Please know that you also have access to fasting.

Fasting is something to be excited about, especially if you are really sick.  When fasting, the white blood cells can get to work fighting off mold, bacteria, and yeast.  The kidneys and gall bladder will stop holding on to the stones inside and do their part to get the mess flowing out.  The liver will start unclogging and be able to produce more interferon to go after pathogens.  You deserve to have all of these good things happen to you!

Fasting is slow and steady, and so the benefits won’t happen overnight. If you are in a diseased state, it took years for your body to get that way so be patient. Just make a start.

The book I would like to recommend to you is Fasting Can Save Your Life, by Herbert M. Shelton.  I like older books and this one was originally published in 1940, then re-written in 1978.  I think older books may not have the prettiest pictures but often have the truth and common sense without all the fluff.  From the back cover:

The popular mistaken concept is that we cannot gain strength and build resistance unless we eat. So long as this illusion persists, thousands will go to premature graves.Food and nutrition are not synonymous. Herbert M. Shelton wrote his best books during his mature years, after 1940. The second edition of this book dates from 1978, so the reader gets the benefit of his decades of experience supervising tens of thousands of fasters.

He covers all the obvious angles: why to fast, where and when to fast, what to expect during a fast, when and how to break a fast. The safety of fasting. Who should fast? Should children fast? Should underweight people fast? Should pregnant women fast? The difference between hunger and appetite. Then, in separate chapters, he discusses various acute and chronic conditions that can be resolved by fasting: from arthritis and asthma to gallstones and tumors. From hay fever to heart disease, and others.

There is no more reliable source of advice on fasting than Herbert M. Shelton. He makes sense, basing his arguments on logic and sound science, not on testimonials. Recommended.

I hope what was discussed here has helped you.  One final note, people usually have more success with fasting when time is scheduled for it.  You need rest, and you will need to be able to focus, especially through the first 24 hours or until the strong cravings for sugar (and all of the bad stuff!) to subside.

This book, by B. C. Wolverton, caught my attention for two reasons.  The first is I just like the idea of ‘growing’ fresh air.  Electric air purifiers are great to have, and in my own family we did decide to buy one. It cost $300, which is considered low compared to some of the purifiers out there, I know.  But plants can be free!

The other reason the book got my attention is my goal to help others know that they can have a better quality of life by working with what already exists.  And plants are all around us.  A better quality of life is not necessarily about money.  It’s often about our decisions.

If you have a home with a front or back yard, you have free plants.  The possibilities, ways, and methods of bringing them inside so they will purify your air, are endless.  I have found baby pine trees sprouting in my yard.  It’s fun and interesting to pot them, bring them inside and see what develops.  Even something that would be classified as a weed can be turned into an intriguing indoor plant.  Get creative and bring in what looks beautiful to you.  Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks of your plant choices.  Just do it.

3 Little Known Ways to Get a Cleaner Colon

  • Diatomaceous Earth and living bentonite clay.  Consider making these sources of minerals part of your daily life for a better grip on gut health.  Most bodies are extremely deficient in magnesium.  Diatomaceous earth and living bentonite clay are excellent ways to get this in your body, whithout taking it in capsule form and worrying how it was processed or manufactured.  Just take the pure source.  I recommend Redmond Clay that has been used by people for absorbing toxins for over 1000 years.  Diatomaceous earth can gently remove dirt (toxins, call it whatever you want) from the body.  Clay removes dirt as well.  I keep both of these on hand at all times.  A paste made out of the clay also works great with insect bites and of course absorbs dirt through the skin.  There are too many benefits to ingesting Diatomaceous Earth to list, so here is some great information for you.  The fact that it gets rid of internal parasites (along with a diet of primarily fruit and vegetables) will keep me using it for life.
  • Put something fresh and green on top of everything you eat.  I am for an all raw fruit and vegetable diet.  But if this is not where you are, at least cover your food in fresh greens.  They are a powerhouse of healing vitamins and minerals.  Again, you can get your vitamins from a pure source.  So no matter what you’re eating – soup, meat and rice, pasta, – top it with lots of greens.
  • Eat less, and eat only during eight hours of the day.  Don’t eat after sundown.  Give your body a break.  This is also known as intermittent fasting.  You will sleep so much better on an empty stomach!  When your body does not have to use all its energy to process food, it can get busy with night repair, healing hormone repair, while you are sleeping.  For a better night’s sleep, go to bed hungry!  Is that last minute bite of (whatever it is) more important than sleeping well?  No!  Intermittent fasting can start you on the path to a cleaner colon.  A cleaner colon equals better nutrient absorption.

Quick and Free Ways to Make Sure you Drink a Green Smoothie Everyday

Drinking a smoothie everyday doesn’t have to be complicated or perfect.  Throw greens and some fruit into a blender with about two cups of water.  Use frozen fruit or ice for coldness.  Below are some ways that will hopefully make it easier for you to do.

Only go to the produce section and that’s it. If you have children (who want you to go to the other parts of the store) keep telling yourself that it’s only whining and it will pass. You’re the one in charge! This part is hard. It takes lots of willpower, but when you succeed your kids are watching. They see your strength and they see where your priorities are. It starts to get easier. Don’t picture them in the present, complaining about what you’re not putting in the cart. Picture them when they are 35 and remembering your example. You can remain strong, steadfast, and loving to those precious little people.

While you’re in the produce section, buy greens that look the best and smell the freshest. If you buy the kind in the rectangular plastic container, fold in a paper towel to place on the top of the greens, close it, and place it upside down in the refrigerator. Change the paper towel everyday, sometimes twice a day. I find this is the best way to keep the greens the freshest for the longest amount of time.

Get as many greens as possible from your own backyard. Learn about what you already have that is edible. Did you know that all grass is edible? You can throw a handful in your smoothie. Wheatgrass gets all of the attention but all grasses are edible. But we can’t just chew them up like cows do. We have to blend or juice them. When you do, you have one of the finest nutritional sources on earth. And it’s Free!

Own a Vitamix blender. There is already so much information out there about Vitamix. It’s a wonderful product and worth owning. If the price shocks you, set aside money until you can purchase one. If you’re super motivated towards health and want to go raw vegan, sell or give away appliances used to cook food to make room in your life for this blender.

Get frozen fruit from Azure Standard. If you don’t already have a good local connection for getting seasonal fruit, Azure Standard has first rate options. They do carry other brands but their own brand, called Azure Husbandry, is picked from their trees, frozen, and can be shipped to your group drop location. I’m sure there are other connections for frozen fruit, this is just the one that I use.

Get free food by walking in your neighborhood and checking out who has tons of fruit growing that they don’t even eat. Knock on the door and ask them if you can have some. Offer to pick some for them as well.  This can be awkward at first!  But I’ve never had anyone say no and every neighbor I’ve met is happy that I can use it and won’t let it go to waste.

Can One Plant Heal You?


There is no denying that plants are designed to heal us.  They all have amazing properties and more and more studies keep popping up to prove this.  You could spend a lifetime studying and being in awe of what they can actually do.  They are incredible, but there is no one magic plant or pill that can heal what’s wrong with you.  Develop a healthy skeptisism when someone tells you that there is.  There are no shortcuts because the results still come from that tried and true, everyday, gentle steps forward kind of attitude!

It takes your physical and mental action to have health.  The actions are as follows:

Being passionate about something,

moving,sweating out the toxins,

getting sun,

refusing to consume anything that has side effects or chemical ingredients,

drinking fresh, pure water.

Saying no to destructive relationships, people that are negative and want to bring you down where they are.  Establish boundaries and offer what you can.  Say goodbye with love if you have to do so.

The person who can heal you is you.  Plants will help.  They can help clean up the damage that’s been done.  Feeling better is all yours but you have to choose it:)

Healing With Aloe Vera


Pretty much everyone has heard of Aloe vera for healing burns, but it does so much more.  It is a miraculous plant and if you do one thing today, go to a plant nursery and pick up as much of it as you can.

The list below includes some of the ways Aloe vera has solved problems in my own family.  I can only write about what I personally observed and researched.  There are a lot of studies that have been done about Aloe vera and it’s facinating stuff.  Look for books published at least 30 years ago for the most content rich reading.

  1. Overnight healing for my ballerina daughter’s sore feet after being in pointe shoes for hours several days in a row.
  2. Stopped Conjuctivitis (Pink Eye) from spreading and after 3 hours everyone had bright, clear eyes.
  3. Stopped the spread and irritation of Poison Oak.
  4. Healed cuts, scrapes, bruises – (this is pretty typical but I still wanted to include it here).
  5. My son woke up one morning with a swollen jaw.  It looked like he was storing a golf ball in his cheek.  We put Aloe vera on it several times a day for two days.  The first thing the Aloe vera did was stop the pain.  By the third morning the lump was gone.  This one was really amazing and I felt great that I didn’t give him something to mask the pain.
  6. We’ve used it for stomach aches by applying it directly to the source of the pain.
  7. My husband’s knee/joint pain cleared up.  This took about 2 months of faithfully applying Aloe vera every night.

In all of the above cases we used fresh gel from the plant.

How Do You Unclog Tubes?

Exactly how many tubes are in the human body?


For this article I want to focus on how a tube is a hollow structure, and the contents that need to flow through it have to be able to do so freely and without obstruction.


The tubes get clogged with the garbage we eat, but health is not a mystery.  How do you unclog the tubes?


Move  Stand up right now and walk around the outside of your home.  Come on, take care of yourself and make a start.  Do what you can.  The point is to do it.

Fresh air  Open the window.  Get outside.  Operate clean, dust free fans.

Do a little fasting to help clear out the garbage, or at least eat between 10am – 6pm.

Eat things that don’t clog the tubes  Fresh, raw fruit cleans your tubes and fresh raw vegeatbles rebuild them.  This is what’s true.


The most important tube to unclog is the colon.  Please do this.  Read Heal Yourself 101 for some FREE information about how to do this.  When the colon is clogged the other organs of the body won’t let go of what they are holding inside.  The gall bladder and kidneys will form stones around what doesn’t belong in an attempt to protect the body from it.  


The daily effort of drinking water and moving unclogs the tubes.


Health is not a mystery when you decide to be in charge it.


While you are outside, enjoy the sun.  In the same way that a stinky pair of shoes gets better after a day in the sun, you do as well!  Sun brings dirt to the surface of you (your skin).  Sun kills mold and bacteria and we all have some in varying degrees.
